Bye Bye Crete
We took the ferry from Kissamos in Crete back to the Peleponnes today. Overcoming some bureaucracy processes was a bit of a challenge, but the most difficult part was emotional:
Happy holidays
Wishing you and your families peaceful, calm and exciting Christmas days. Whatever you do on “normal” days, do something different! Meet your beloved ones. In person or virtually, but meet them! Don’t wait for better times. The best time is now.
Crete’s mountains
Spending two nights and days in Selakano which is on almost 1000m altitude and known for its old woods. Up here the nights started to be fresh and we enjoyed some hiking and fantastic trees. What a different world to the seaside!
First week on Crete
Another ferry night and we arrived on Crete. The first week we spent on “Como Beach”, right in the South, where we found a nice place for our van, just in front of the sea, and enjoyed just relaxing on the beach, the local Tavernas, and wonderful sunsets.
Caves, beaches, and a song from Joni Mitchell
Heading further east along the south coast of Crete, we found Xerokampos, a wide-spread village with several nice beaches, only very few hotels and now, in winter time, remarkably calm. Coming down the street from the mountians features spectacural views into the bay area.
Heading south
Some days earlier than planned, Josefa and I finished what needs to be done at home if you are away for a while. Packed our staff, prepared the car, and started the next chapter of this year: Experience a relaxing winter times in southern parts of Europe.
