A cave and a flat tire

From our place at Makro-Gialos, we made an excursion to the countryside. A few hundred meters above the beautiful village Pefki , there is Spileo Vriko, a small unattended cave with stalactites. Unfortunately, we figured that we would need much better light to fully explore the cave. With some of the weak light we were having, we ended up in only seeing parts of it. Still, impressive and a true experience – including bats that flew around our heads.

There are way better pictures from the Vriko cave available in the internet than this one – it is a bit poor because of the limited light we were carrying

We decided not to stay up there in the mountains that night, as a stronger wind came up and temperatures dropped. Heading down to the seaside again, we took another of these bumpy dust roads. Unfortunately, we must have hit a stone bodaly with the left front wheel.

So the bad news was that we had to change plans again and needed to look for a garage to help us. The good news was that after only 2 hours, the tire was repaired. A local wheel dealer really surprised us with a late hour, immediate repair at low cost and we were so grateful for this service at this time!
