Final hiking tour
On one of our last days in Paleochora, we did a nice day hiking tour through the hills around the area. Enjoying the early spring, breathing the still fresh air, and saying good-bye to the mystic places all around.

On our way home, we had a few days in Peloponnes to drive up a 250 kilometres to Patras, where the ferry leaves to Ancona in Italy. Last view to Crete Avoiding the larger sitis, there is a ferry from Crete to the Peleponnes, arriving in Gythia. A beautiful view onto some snow-covered mountains in…
Between May and September, there is little rain down here and temperatures between 30 and 40 Celsius are normal. It seems that nature has to hurry up now. Do what needs to be done well before summer starts. So, we have seen the first cherry trees blooming, and on a hiking tour through the hills…
Yesterday we found an amazing place. It features a nice lonely spot for our van under a tree, a fantastic seaview, a little sandy bay just for us (we still go swimming daily), and a small village in walking distance for shopping.

Just expereinced these “halcyon days” while traveling on the west coast, down from Chania (Χανιά) to Paliochora (Παλιόχωρα).
