Round trip to San Galgano
I had been visiting the impressive ruins of San Galgano many years ago. Now noticed it was just a nice 18km walk away from Campalfi so I decided to take 2 days and test my hiking equipment. The church was built by Cisternian monks in the 12th century and burned down almost 250 years ago. The remainders are a wonderful place of walls, opening up to the sky. Staying in the centre you have a unique 360 view into all compass directions plus the sky. A truly mystic and unique place

In the evening, met Stefan and Tanja and had a nice dinner in a small local restaurant.

Testing my little lightweight tent in the middle of a nearby wood. It worked well despite heavy storms, hail and rain that night
Great to see you exploring these beautiful places. The tent looks great. Viel spaß, Dirk.
Thanks Harshini, I am really enjoying this indeed.
