First week on Crete
Another ferry night and we arrived on Crete. The first week we spent on “Como Beach”, right in the South, where we found a nice place for our van, just in front of the sea, and enjoyed just relaxing on the beach, the local Tavernas, and wonderful sunsets.

Our little rented flat in Paleochora has been a home base for the past weeks and still is. Caves, beaches, and a song from Joni Mitchell
Heading further east along the south coast of Crete, we found Xerokampos, a wide-spread village with several nice beaches, only very few hotels and now, in winter time, remarkably calm. Coming down the street from the mountians features spectacural views into the bay area.
The perfect place
Yesterday we found an amazing place. It features a nice lonely spot for our van under a tree, a fantastic seaview, a little sandy bay just for us (we still go swimming daily), and a small village in walking distance for shopping.
Wild places
Travelling by Van and outside of the main season allows us to visit wonderful, rural beaches and places and have them for ourselves. Amazing trips and places.
White experience
Finally, the low pressure area that hit northern Europe first came down to Greece, all the way down to Crete. Here at the sea side in Paleochora, where we have rented a little flat for a few weeks, we got temperatures around 5 degrees Celsuis for a few days, heavy winds, big waves, and quite…
